Neti-Neti Meditation Kindle Edition

$6.00
Neti-Neti is one of the oldest meditation techniques in the world. Through this process of intense introspection, we discover that we are not limited to our bodies, emotions, or minds, for our true nature is actually boundless and numinous. Historically, these two simple words, Neti-Neti, have pointed the way for generations of seekers and contemplatives to free themselves from the constriction of the ego and suffering.
Fortunately, you no longer have to be an expert meditator to practice or even benefit from the wisdom of Neti-Neti. It is now available for anyone seeking freedom in the knowledge of their true nature.
Drawing upon his experiences as a Buddhist monk, Zen teacher, and meditation instructor, Andre Doshim Halaw has developed Neti-Neti into a full meditation practice specifically designed to address the human condition in the 21st century.
Neti-Neti Meditation is a form of self-inquiry that eliminates who we think we are as a limited, separate person, and reveals our true nature as the formless, unconditioned Absolute itself, free of all imperfections and suffering. This book walks you step-by-step through the Neti-Neti process.

The basic theme of "Neti Neti" is that we are the vast, empty and without attributes which are commonly referred to as the "Absolute". We are not what we think of ourselves as personality, our body and sensations or what we identity ourselves as a particular gender or role such as parent, child or sibling. The author discusses three levels of reality, the first one is called the manifest realm of matter and observable phenomena. The second is the manifest level beyond perceptions and conceptualizations and lastly the "Absolute" or the "Unmanifest". The author describes the "Absolute" as beyond all form, senses and awareness yet the author still maintains that the "Absolute" can be known. The analysis of the three levels of reality and the basis of all reality, ie. the "Absolute", seems very perplexing and difficult to grasp

Whatever wisdom and truth is conveyed here, I cannot imagine how anyone can sort out what he is saying.
I find book rife with circular logic…you are not you, what you think you are is just a phantasm…well then, what is wrong with that? Maybe that’s what being a someone is…a narrative, feelings, concerns, projects, etc. It does not matter that these can be dismissed as mere impressions on the screen of consciousness..they are what makes a life.
Beyond that, the absolute….I really think you need LSD or something like it to get to the point that what he says is comprehensible.
Another annoyance is that this writer lives a spiritual life as a trade. So what good is he? Who fixes my roof when it leaks. Who makes the vaccines? who repairs or does anything if not-this not- that (neti neti)? Than WHAT? When he starts saying pain is not real…..come on dude, you know that nonsense.
Once we all realize the absolute, who will do the dishes?

A nice clear explanation of manifest, nondual, and absolute, that i have not come across elsewhere. i have been studying Nisargadatta's - I Am That - for years! This is a very useful addition. i really haven't read anything else for years, so that is saying a lot! Thanks very much!

Neti-Neti Meditation by Andre Doshim Halaw is an excellent source book to help eliminated the sense that we are a self. He challenges us to shift our understanding that the “I” we so often feel is actually an entity we can locate; really, it is simply a process of thought without an anchor. Halaw provides very easy to understand meditative exercises to help accomplish this. But really, the devil is in the details. Taking up a practice is about incorporating it into your daily routine. That is the only way to do it; we need to find time for the silent 'self' which in very real ways does not exist for Neti-Neti to work.

Neti Neti meditation is at the heart of Jnana Yoga and is central to the teaching of Vedanta. For being so important not much has really been written about the method. Here it is!!! This book clearly explains the how and why of this the ultimate in the Via Negativa elucidated by the statement "Eliminate the unreal, until only the real remains" ((Nisargadatta). This book is sufficient to take you "all the way home". I have read a lot on the "how to's" of meditation, but this book is concise on the how of this method.
I consider it to be the most highly effective method, so much so that in the last couple of decades many meditators of all schools have added Maharshi"s Inquiry and the method of negation to their practice. Highly recommended!!!

Because the book deserves it.
I would recommend to like minded people and new seekers. This is a process you rinse and repeat.

Discover your true nature

This book may be a relative concept created by your mind, manifesting from the non-dual plane of existence, but what a fine illusion it is, and one that amazingly can help you break free of the illusion in which it exists. After doing the work this book won't disappear before your eyes, but it will certainly be seen in the context of the absolute truth, as will you. Short, concise and full of mind blowing information. Its like Andre says in the book, its not for the faint hearted, as you'll literally be slapping your ego silly and dissolving the very core of your identity, but if like me you get a kick out of not existing and want the solution to all your suffering, pay the ridiculously small amount of money for this book and swallow the red pill baby

Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are. This book will give you that truth. As the author states in his website : "Each time we transcend a dimension of our being that we previously identified with, our sense of self broadens until we are free to be whatever life demands us to be. The more that we transcend, the freer we are, for then we are no longer bound by any single sense of self. This means that we can move freely in life, like water cascading over smooth rocks. "
This book is very concise and clear in its message. This author is a genuine teacher. I don't see profit margins and lots of pretend A++++ reviews. Please read this book. And I'm sure that your search for peace will be over.

I have meditated for a long time. This book gives a solid explanation and way to use meditation for negation. It helps define what objects to choose and how to develop the objects to the clear view. Samedhi. The end result, after learning the techniques can use it all the time to understand who or what you are.

One of the best books I have read about meditation. Deeply inspiring, concise, clear sighted, clearly staged, enlightening, unpretentious and lucid. If you feel like you need a short primer to kick you up the arse and get you back on the cushion I definitely recommend this.
